Role of Public Advisory Committee (PAC)

The Public Advisory Committee includes 55 members that inform the public on air quality issues in the Southern Appalachians. They identify public concerns and encourage public participation in air quality decision making. They advise SAMI on issues of public importance and advise the public on SAMI responses to those concerns. SAMI brochures, fact sheets, and the 1999 and 2000 Interim Reports are Public Advisory Committee products.

Current PAC Projects

The PAC recently completed the SAMI 2000 Interim Report which described the latest findings of the Integrated Assessment.  The PAC is now working with ICF Consulting to find pollution emission reduction strategies that may modeled in the Socioeconomic Impacts module of the Integrated Assessment.
